2024 Summer Camp Programs

Day Camp at Brookside Park

Dates: June 24th - August 2nd (No camp July 4th or July 5th)

Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Location: Brookside Park, 1255 Hetfield Avenue

*All campers should have been registered according to their grade during the 2023/2024 school year.  If you accidentally signed your child(ren) up for the wrong grade, please contact the Recreation Department immediately: 908-322-6700 x 223

Special Notes for Day Camp Parents & Guardians

• Morning Drop-off (9:00 AM)
  • You are welcome to come earlier and stay with your camper in the parking lot, but staff will not be ready to begin supervision until 9:00 AM.
  • Enter the park using the lower lot by the pond
  • Staff will be stationed on the driveway to greet you and your camper, as well as direct you where to go
  • Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Graders (2023/2024 school year) --- campers check in with their counselors in the fenced in area where the basketball courts are.  This area is known as "the rink"
  • 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Graders (2023/2024 school year) --- campers check in with their counselors on the ball field
  • Be on the look out for signage when you arrive!
  • If someone other than the camper's parent/guardian will be picking up the camper at the end of the day, this must be communicated with staff IN WRITING
    • You can leave a hand written note with staff during morning drop-off
    • You can fill out a form on site during morning drop-off

• Afternoon Pick-Up (3:00 PM)
  • Campers will be in their assigned locations waiting for parents/guardians to pick them up at the end of the day
  • Assigned locations for afternoon pick-up are the same locations as morning drop-off
  • All campers MUST sign out with staff before leaving
  • If you choose to pick up your camper earlier than 3:00 PM, please go directly to Camp Leadership to locate your camper's station and assist with dismissal
• Theme Days (see above calendars)
  • All campers are encouraged to participate, although it is not a requirement
  • Some activities may require sending your camper to camp with extra supplies for example.....
    • Water Play Days - send your child to camp in a bathing suit with a towel and a change of clothes
    • Tie Dye Day - send your child to camp with something to tie dye
• Inclement Weather
  • Bad weather days happen - especially during the summer.  This year, when inclement weather is expected ahead of time, McGinn Elementary School will be used as our indoor location.
  • Weather announcements will be made by 7:30 AM
    • An announcement will be posted on our Facebook page and registered families will be notified via email
  • If an unexpected storm pops up during the day while campers are already at Brookside Park, you may receive a phone call from staff leadership to come pick up your camper early
