The Senior Advisory Board is a group of volunteers appointed by the Mayor to advise the Recreation Department and Commission on activities, programs, and facilities for the Senior residents of the Township.

Golden Agers: $20 fee to join
The Golden Agers club was established in 1966 and meets weekly from September-June on Thursdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm at Shady Rest Country Club in the Clubhouse. Weekly activities include bingo, arts and crafts, special occasion parties, luncheons, guest speakers and more! Day trips are also scheduled throughout the year.

Meridians: $10 fee to join
The Meridian club has been in Scotch Plains since the 1950s and is open to any senior age 55 and older. This is a casual, fun group geared mainly towards older seniors, and meets weekly on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 1:30pm at Shady Rest Country Club in the Clubhouse. Activities include games such as bingo and scrabble, along with a monthly birthday celebration for members.
