Save the Date: June 14, 2022 Scotch Plains Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K

After a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K is back this year with its race taking place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. In three months, runners will be lacing up their shoes to take part in one of the biggest events in the heart of downtown Scotch Plains.  

Check in will begin at 6:00pm on June 14, with the Family Fun Run at 7:00pm and the 5K starting at 7:30pm. Registration will open in the coming weeks.

The race will use the same 5K course, starting and finishing across from the Fire House on Senger Place, and conclude with an after party with music and BBQ from the Stagehouse Tavern on the grounds of the Scotch Plains municipal building.

The Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K was started in 2015 by a local group of runners who wanted to see a great event to promote downtown Scotch Plains.

This group of runners partnered with another group of local residents who previously put on the Patrick J. Allocca Memorial 5K. Together, the Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K raises money to support charitable recipients, including Camp Clover, a summer bereavement camp for children, local veterans, the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad, the Scotch Plains Police Foundation, local families, and Kyra’s Cancer Care.
