Message from Mayor Josh Losardo | January 3, 2025

Happy New Year! As we take our very first steps into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the resilience, kindness and sense of community that defines our wonderful town.

Together, we face challenges, celebrate successes and do our absolute best to make Scotch Plains an incredible community in which to live, work, play, raise our families and, one day, retire.

The start of a new year is always a time for fresh beginnings and renewed commitment to public service. As your Mayor, I am dedicated to working alongside our Township Council, Administration and countless volunteers to ensure that 2025 is a year of continued progress and inclusivity for our community.

I am delighted to invite all residents to the annual Municipal Reorganization Meeting, which will take place this year on Tuesday, January 7, at 6 pm at Town Hall, 430 Park Ave. This important public meeting kicks off the Township Council’s work for the year and is an opportunity to witness your local government in action, as we plan for 2025.

Immediately following the Reorganization Meeting, we will publish the full schedule of Township Council meeting dates for 2025 on the municipal website, scotchplainsnj.gov.

This ensures transparency and provides everyone with the opportunity to stay informed and engaged throughout the year.  I very much hope you will attend public meetings in 2025, providing us with your vital input and guidance as the Township Council makes important decisions that affect our entire community.

As we embark on this new year, it is the ideal time to share your ideas, get more involved with so much that is happening in town, and continue contributing to the vibrant community spirit that makes Scotch Plains so special.

I also want to express my appreciation to the volunteers serving our town on boards and commissions – whether you are returning for a new term or becoming involved for the very first time.

Here’s to a year filled with health, happiness and success for all!
