Work Begins Tuesday, Feb. 22 on Water Line Upgrade
New Jersey American Water is replacing approximately 3,500 feet of aging water lines in the Parkwood neighborhood.
Workers are also replacing two fire hydrants and 50 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. The company is replacing six-inch cast iron water lines that were installed in the 1920s with new eight-inch ductile iron mains along Brookside Drive from Golf Street to Brookside Court and Golf Street from Brookside Drive to Arrowwood Drive.
The contractor, Vollers Excavating and Construction, expects to complete work by the end of April, weather permitting. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Work outside of these hours is not expected unless required to maintain the project schedule. Final street restorations will be completed in the summer.
