Special Storm-Related Debris Pick-up to Be Scheduled

Scotch Plains is set to begin the bulk pick-up of storm debris beginning Monday, September 13.

The township is contracting with a hauler to provide trucks to clear debris throughout Scotch Plains. Neighborhoods most heavily impacted will have priority.

The township will be seeking federal disaster relief to cover the disposal expense.

This special pick-up is only for households that Hurricane Ida affected. Unrelated refuse will not be picked up.

Large appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, will also not be picked up. They can be recycled through Union County by contacting Stuart Newman at 908-654-9890 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
