Scotch Plains residents who need to visit a Motor Vehicle Commission office can do so right in Scotch Plains on Friday, September 24 with two mobile units.

One unit is coming to the Southside fire department building, 1910 Raritan Rd., from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Those in need of services should fill out this form. Similar services will take place at the same time at the Scotch Hills Golf Course, 820 Jerusalem Road. Those interested in visiting that site should fill out this form.

There is a limited number of slots at both sites. A township representative will reach out to confirm your appointment.

Residents can apply for REAL ID, as well as driver’s license renewals and registration renewals. In addition, customers also receive veteran, handicapped and Purple Heart recipient placards, as well as permits, and non-driver IDs.

License plate drop-offs are also allowed and do not count against the number of customers we can serve during the event.

The Mobile Unit cannot perform driver’s tests, endorsements, commercial driver’s licenses, license transfers, permit tests, business vehicle registrations and title/registrations.
