Play Ball! Mayor Losardo Tosses First Pitch on Opening Day
Mayor Josh Losardo took the mound twice in less than a week, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to commemorate the start of the girls' recreation softball and SP-F Little League Baseball spring seasons.
In the offseason, the Township of Scotch Plains provided assistance in renovating SP-F Baseball League's Booth Field to include safety netting along the foul lines and home run fence after learning the park would be unusable without it.
"I'm thrilled the township could lend more support to a league of volunteer moms and dads teaching boys and girls this great spring sport," Mayor Losardo said. "My son's coaches have been dedicated beyond my wildest dreams. We are all very appreciative of this thriving program."
