"Pandemic Pups" Need Dog Licenses, Too
You see them all around town. There are pups everywhere, as many Scotch Plains residents rushed out to adopt, foster or buy a pooch during the many long months of the pandemic.
While Scotch Plains is thrilled to welcome all its new four-legged friends, they do need to be licensed under state law. In fact, the owners of all dogs seven months of age or older are required to annually apply to the town clerk for a license.
License applications can be found on the Township website under “Forms”; along with the current fee schedule. Licenses should be renewed through the mail, as the municipal building remains appointment-only.
Scotch Plains officials also remind residents to pick up after their dogs and dispose of waste in the trash or toilet, not municipal storm drains.
