Spring Forward: Don't Forget to Set Your Clocks and Check Your Smoke Alarms

Township officials remind residents to set their clocks ahead one hour on Sunday, March 14 in observance of Daylight Savings Time.

This is a good time to change your batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. If your smoke alarm or carbon-monoxide detector does not have a removable battery, test your device to make sure it is working.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, three of five deaths from fires at homes are due to the lack of smoke alarms or alarms not functioning properly.
