Gold Star Family Street Dedication for United States Army Private Anthony Perrucci

Resolution
WHEREAS, the Township of Scotch Plains is honoring United States Army Private Anthony Perrucci, with a ceremonial street sign to be placed at the intersections of Montague and Westfield Avenue as well as Stout and Westfield Avenue at a memorial service on Saturday, November 12, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Perrucci was born at his home, 1998 Westfield Avenue in Scotch Plains and raised by his parents, Amelia Appezato and Angelo Marino Perrucci; and
WHEREAS, Army Private Perrucci enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II. Private Perrucci is among the 17,453 American Gold Star casualties recorded with close ties to New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, during his service in World War II, Army Private Perrucci experienced a traumatic event which ultimately resulted in the loss of this life; and
WHEREAS, Army Private Perrucci was awarded World War II Victory medal, Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation and Army Good Conduct Medal; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Township of Scotch Plains, that a ceremonial street sign identified as “PVT. Anthony C. Perrucci Way – US Army - WWII” shall be placed at the intersections of Montague and Westfield Avenue and Stout and Westfield Avenue.
