Township officials celebrated the unveiling of Engine 1681, the latest addition to the Scotch Plains Fire Department, on Sunday afternoon.
Engine 1681 is a pumper tanker vehicle that has a built-in water tank with a 1,000-gallon range and replaces a truck that was more than 25 years old.
Fire Chief John Lestarchick thanked Township Manager Al Mirabella and the Mayor and Council for their support.
The Scotch Plains Fire Department now has three engines, one truck, and one rescue vehicle in the fleet.
