Important Information & Resources: 

  • Reporting Damage: To report damage caused by the storm, please use https://nj.gov/ida/NOTE: Be sure to keep all of your receipts relating to Hurricane Ida recovery!
  • FEMA Resources: The official disaster declaration webpage for New Jersey from FEMA provides information on assistance for families, local resources, and the latest news from the agency: https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4614#local-resources
  • Red Cross: People in need of emergency assistance from the Red Cross can call: (800) RED-CROSS or (800) 507-6058. For people who have been displaced, please use the Red Cross website to find a shelter near you.
  • Donations/Volunteerism: If you wish to assist with the recovery efforts, you should check in with your local governments/orgs first, or visit FEMA’s Volunteer/Donate page

In order to assess the amount of damage residents and businesses have suffered from IDA, we are asking all those affected to click on the link and complete the form.

This information will be compiled and added to a report that gets sent to the State Individual Assistance Unit to submit to FEMA to have Individual Assistance added to the Current Major Disaster Declaration. Please complete this form even if you submitted one to the state so that the Township can ensure that all that suffered damages are documented.

A reminder, If you have pictures, please keep them, they will be needed for filing for Individual Assistance or for your insurance claim. Also, if you have insurance, make sure that you have notified them. If you do not have internet access or a computer at home, or you need assistance in completing the form, The Scotch Plains Library will be able to assist you.
