Game of Cones: Scoops Ice Creamery Serving Up Smiles for More Than Three Decades
Scoops Ice Creamery (2014 Route 22 East) has been the local go-to spot for residents looking to satisfy their sweet tooth since 1990. It has become a tradition for many Scotch Plains families to celebrate events, accomplishments and special moments over the years at the ice creamery.
With the long-awaited arrival of warm weather, residents have again started flocking in to get their ice cream fix. Now, they can enjoy their cold treats on Scoops' newly-renovated patio.
You really can't go wrong with any flavor of ice cream, but Scoops owner Colleen Tighe says their most popular flavor now is Unicorn, which is cotton candy. Smurf, the blue raspberry Italian ice, is a close second and has been a long-time favorite. Cookies and Creme, Mud Pie and Triple Chocolate round out the Top 5.
"We are so proud to have been in business for so many great years in Scotch Plains," Tighe said. "Our customers have been great and it is a pleasure seeing them come back each year."
Scoops is open everyday from noon until 9 p.m. Stop in and get your favorite ice cream or try something new!
After all, a day without ice cream is practically un-cone-stitutional.
