2024 Scotch Plains Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K

The Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K is Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run starts at 7:00pm followed by the 5K at 7:30pm. Click the link to register: https://runsignup.com/PatricksRacetoSummer5k

The race will use the same 5K course as previous years, starting and finishing across from the Fire House on Senger Place, and conclude with an after party with music and BBQ from the Stage House Tavern on the Alan M. Augustine Village Green next to the Scotch Plains municipal building.

The Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K was started in 2015 by a local group of runners who wanted to see a great event to promote downtown Scotch Plains. This group of runners partnered with another group of local residents who previously put on the Patrick J. Allocca Memorial 5K.

The Patrick’s Downtown Race to Summer 5K raises money to support charitable recipients and causes and donated over $20,000 through funds raised from last year’s race to various groups and individuals including Camp Clover, a summer bereavement camp for children, Play for P.I.N.K, the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad, the Scotch Plains Fire Department, Immaculate Heart of Mary Food Pantry, the Frazee House restoration project, SPF Scholarship Foundation, local families in need, and more. 

The race is also supported by the Township of Scotch Plains and is one of the qualifying races that are part of the Mayor’s Wellness Challenge.
