Statement from the Mayor and Township Council About the Passing of Former Councilwoman Lorraine Donatelli
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lorraine Donatelli, a lifelong Scotch Plains resident and a former councilwoman.
Lorraine was born, raised and lived her entire life in Scotch Plains. After she graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 1952, she worked as a bank teller for more than 20 years before retiring in 1987. She was also a full-time homemaker while raising her family.
Lorraine served on the Township Council from 1999-2000 after her husband, Franklin, passed. Lorraine proudly filled her husband’s council seat for an unexpired term.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to Lorraine's friends and family. May she be remembered for her tremendous dedication to the hometown she loved.
