Union Catholic Inviting Community to an Olympic Viewing Party on Friday to Cheer on Sydney McLaughlin
Sydney McLaughlin, a proud 2017 graduate of Union Catholic High School, is set to take the international stage on Friday, July 30 for the first round of the women’s 400 meter hurdle competition.
Join fellow Scotch Plains residents on the front lawn of the Martine Avenue high school, as McLaughlin hurdles for gold in the Toyko Olympics. The free event opens at 6 p.m., with her estimated race at 8:30 p.m., featuring games, prizes and free parking on the campus.
Bring a chair or a blanket, as well as food. You can also purchase from on-site food trucks with hot dogs, hamburgers, cheesesteaks, ice cream, soda, and more. There will also be a beer garden, so make sure to bring your ID.
McLaughlin is also set to compete Monday, August 2 at 7:30 am and in the finals, Tuesday Aug. 3 at 10:30 p.m.
