Play in the Park on Wednesdays in July

In celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month and to spread awareness about the many great parks in Scotch Plains, the Township is hosting three “Play in the Park” events this month for all residents to attend.

The free events are scheduled for July 14, 21, and 28 from 6-8 p.m. at Green Forest Park on Westfield Road, Brookside Park on Hetfield Avenue and Kramer Manor Park on Evelyn Street.

The events are open for all families and neighbors to celebrate “Parks and Recreation Month” this July. Attendees can enjoy an evening of play while learning about the newly-released Master Plan that calls for further upgrades and improvements of Township parks and facilities.

“We are delighted to host this event for the community and hope everyone comes out to see the park upgrades that are already completed,” said Deputy Mayor Elizabeth Stamler, liaison to the Recreation Commission. “The Master Plan has been a labor of love for the Recreation Commission. It is the next critical step, as we develop long-range plans to continually expand recreational offerings with upgraded facilities.”
