Matt Adams Sworn in as Councilman
Following the recommendation of the Scotch Plains Democratic Committee, the Township Council welcomed Matthew S. Adams to fill an unexpired term on the Township Council. Adams, 39, said he is honored the committee has selected him to run for the seat to fill the remainder of a council term left vacant when Josh Losardo was sworn in as mayor in January.
Since moving to Scotch Plains in 2014, Adams has been heavily involved in youth sports, coaching soccer, while being an enthusiastic fan for youth wrestling and baseball.
“I am ready to roll up my sleeves and go to work for everyone,” said Adams, during his swearing-in ceremony on April 20. “I accept the challenges ahead with a firm grasp on the history that preceded this moment, and with a keen eye toward the vision that we collectively share. Together, the possibilities are limitless.”
In his role on the Township Council, Adams will be the liaison to the Environmental Commission and the Raritan Valley Rail Line Coalition.
