Town-wide Clean-up Celebrates Earth Day
Dozens of volunteers pitched in during a town-wide cleanup last Saturday morning.
Clean-ups were held at the following locations:
- Brookside Nature Trail and the woods
- Waterway on North Avenue
- Westfield Road between the public works building
- Waterway by Mountain Avenue
- Kramer Manor Park (Lower Lot and Wooded Area)
Meanwhile, township officials joined the Scotch Plains Green Team in celebrating Earth Day on Saturday morning at the Scotch Plains Public Library, handing out reusable tote bags filled with environment-friendly materials and seedling giveaways, thanks to the New Jersey Tree Recovery Program.
Town leaders are especially thankful to Wild Birds Unlimited for the home butterfly garden material donations. Also, there were free Energy Star Certified LED light bulbs, courtesy of New Jersey's Clean Energy program.
